Stow on the Wold is a lovely Town and one of my favorite Cotswold Villages. It's claim to fame is that it is the highest town in The Cotswolds and the meeting point where 8 roads come together. It was an important and prosperous market town in medieval times.
It's central location makes it a great base for Weekend Breaks in England. There are plenty of things to do in the Cotswolds as well as being a great place to just relax and rejuvenate.
The Old Market Square is actually rectangular shaped and surrounded by shops, pubs, restaurants and hotels. There are narrow "walled alleys" which were used to direct the sheep toward the marketplace.
We stayed at a wonderful Bed Breakfast Cotswolds on one of our family's Girls Getaways. It was my sister and niece's first trip to England and staying in an English home was a wonderful experience for them.
